Lovely weather for weeding

What lovely weather for weeding. Lots of the tulips have died down so we dead headed and tidied up, pulling up the weeds and sweeping along the paths. We were joined in the garden by lots of children playing from an event at TEF. Great to have such nice weather.

New Plants!

Thanks very much to John Clifford and Wollaton Rotary for donating all the lovely plants.
The rain sort of held off an we got them all planted in a couple of hours after sweeping and weeding.

Garden looks really lovely and colourful now all the tulips are out.

Hope for some more sunshine soon but at least they will be well watered in!

The Garden Open Day!

Thanks to everyone who came a long and supported our garden open day what a fantastic day with sunshine and lots of people eating cakes!

Fencing-Woo Hoo!

What a great day!

We started at 8:30am by taking all the old fencing out.

We found lots of old rubbish between the fencing and the wall, including some 80's cassette tapes and a body warmer-fortunately no body! and a selection of drinks cans so everything was bagged up for recycling. Good job this doesn't work in smellivision!

We loaded all the old fencing, branches and rubbish in the trailer (Thanks Dave!) and had four trips to the tip.

Then we started to install the new fencing which went in without too many problems.

We had time for a short coffee and cake break

Then back to work!

The garden looks fantastic, hopefully the few daffodil casualties will have chance to recover before the open day next week.

Bit Wet!

Well could it have rained anymore! We jet washed the patio and walls, couldn't really see what we were doing as the rain was so bad. We also cut back a lot of dead branches so that lots more light can come in to the garden. All ready for the new fencing to arrive and be installed.
No pictures today as everything looked horrible in the wet and mud, including us!

Brrrr!

A cold but sunny day, we cleared up the leaves again! and piled them up ready for the arrival or the leaf composter that Bethan is constructing.

The bulbs are starting to come and the new gnome has arrived!
